2003 – 2010

Dr. Kevin M. Heinz provided leadership from December 2003 to September 2010. Under Dr. Heinz’ leadership, the department experienced unprecedented growth in the undergraduate program, making it the largest in the United States, development and implementation of a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences, and the award of a National Science Foundation, Research and Undergraduate Program (REU). The department was recognized for significant growth in diversity of undergraduate and graduate students and faculty, for growth in statewide research programs through team building grants, and for growth in privately-funded endowments and student scholarships.
